Weddings & Elopements

Although I have played at many weddings and elopements (in Inverness, throughout Scotland and abroad) every single one has been unique.  This is one of the best things about the clarsach - it is so versatile!

(See some of the most incredible venues I've had the pleasure of playing at here.)

Over the years I have had requests for many  different styles of music so I can help you customise the sound track to your day.  I have a list of music I already know here, however if there's a tune you LOVE that's not there, PLEASE ASK!  It's so important for your day to be personal to you, so if there's any way to play your special tune on the clarsach I will do my best to arrange it for you.

If you are getting married in a small room or chapel, the clarsach's acoustics can fill the room and 'WOW' your guests.  If you've chosen a huge ballroom or cathedral I can use a discrete amplifier to lift the sound so that everyone can hear your chosen music.

If you want to get married inside but have your wedding reception and photographs taken outside, I can pick up and move to where your guests are - indoors or out.

How can I help?

To me it's really important to get to know you.

What is it that will make your wedding so memorable for you?

  • Perhaps me playing a tune you danced to on your first date as you walk down the aisle?

  • Do you have a song that's "Your song" I can include?

  • Seeing the joy of your relatives or friends and their children trying out a clarsach for the 1st time - this is always a hit with guests during a wedding reception.

How can I make the process of organising your wedding music easier for you?

  • If you know what music you'd like, I can demonstrate the tunes ahead of time.

  • If you don't know what music to have, I can make suggestions, or even select some tunes for you, leaving you to concentrate on the things that are important to you.

  • On the day, I coordinate with your celebrant/minister and the venue staff to make sure the music in your ceremony is seamless - starting/stopping your chosen tunes at the right times - no need to rely on a bestman to hit play on a device at the right time and hope there's no technical glitch.

  • If there's a hold up for any reason in the ceremony, I can play extra tunes to entertain your guests while it's fixed so most won't even know there was an issue. (I've seen this happen with dress malfunctions and misplaced vows/readings).

Testimonials

"We were absolutely thrilled to have Emma, as part of our wedding at 'The Traitors' Ardross Castle. From the start, Emma was wonderfully friendly and made the entire experience so personal and memorable. Her warmth and kindness immediately put us at ease, and she took the time to understand our vision for the day, choosing pieces that perfectly matched the tone of our ceremony and reception.

Emma’s music was simply magical, adding such elegance and beauty to our wedding. During the ceremony, her harp created a serene, emotional atmosphere that was everything we hoped for. She continued to enchant our guests throughout the wedding breakfast, blending each piece effortlessly into the ambiance and making the experience unforgettable for everyone.

Thank you, Emma, for sharing your talent with us and making our day truly special. We couldn’t recommend Emma Wright more highly to anyone looking to add a touch of Highland magic to their wedding – she’s simply exceptional!

"My fiance and I met with Emma to discuss having her play the clarsach at our wedding at Bunchrew House. She kindly agreed to play the music we had chosen for our ceremony as well as a mixture of traditional Scottish and other music while guests were gathering and while our official photos were being taken. The clarsach sounded beautiful and I loved walking down the aisle to her playing. Many of our guests commented how lovely it was to have Emma playing in the ceremony room as well as out in the garden afterwards during our drinks reception.  Some of the guests even had a go at trying to play which was a lovely extra touch!

Emma was a delight to work with and very reliable and personable. We cannot recommend her highly enough to add something extra to a special day."

"I was so lucky to have Emma play at my wedding in November. She is such a lovely, friendly lady with so much talent. After the wedding she sent me a recording of the piece I walked down the aisle to which is so lovely to have. I couldn’t recommend her enough x "

"Emma played at our wedding in June. She was absolutely brilliant from start to finish. Played for us to help us pick the music and even learnt a new piece for us. Loved having her play as I walked down the aisle and all the guests commented on how lovely it was to hear her play as they were arriving and waiting for me.

Thanks again Emma for being part of our special day! "

"Emma was absolutely incredible at our wedding in September! Everything she played was beautiful, as well as learning Jose Gonzalez for our aisle song - and in addition to being such a lovely friendly person to have around. We would so highly recommend! Thank you so much!"

"Emma played at our wedding in November 2019, and she is absolute amazing.  She is so friendly and helpful, helping us choose the songs for our wedding ceremony.  Emma's clarsach has an absolutely beautiful sound, and it brought me to tears just before I made the walk down the aisle. It was just so magical.   Emma made our day so special and we would highly recommend her.  Thank you so much Emma."

"From the very start when I got in touch with Emma to play at our wedding, she was very friendly and professional, replying to any questions etc I had very quickly which made the whole process so easy! We chatted about what song choices we would like and Emma played a few different pieces to help us choose! We had a beautiful outdoor ceremony in October and it was made complete with Emma playing absolutely beautifully our song choices.....then sending over a recording of our song as I walked down the aisle afterwards, something we will treasure and will bring us happy tears for many years to come!

Thankyou so much Emma xx"

"We were extremely lucky to have Emma play at our wedding this week. I got in touch with Emma through lockdown and we arranged a video call to chat everything over. She was so lovely and talked us through everything we needed to know. We then had to change dates again, and Emma was very understanding and fitted our new date in. All our guests commented on how talented Emma was and how beautifully she played from start to finish. She also sent us a recording to keep as a little memento, which was so lovely. Thanks again Emma xx"

"We were so lucky to have Emma play at our wedding ceremony in August. She was absolutely everything I had dreamed of to walk down the aisle. From the beginning she was so lovely to work with, she learnt one of my most favourite tunes ‘Greatest Day’ by Take That and it was a stunning rendition. I felt like I was in a Disney princess movie walking down the aisle. My partner told me how much everyone was loving her playing while they waited for the ceremony to start. I really couldn’t recommend her more, she was everything and more!! Thank you for making the ambiance of our outdoor ceremony so special!

"Thank you so much for the beautiful music you provided at our wedding last weekend. It was amazing and we absolutely loved it. We can’t wait to get our video from the videography to hear it again! There were so many compliments on how lovely it was.

Thank you for also entertaining my two nephews and my niece! I was so proud of how well they managed during the ceremony. We were worried they might need to be taken out the ceremony, but I heard from my sisters that you were so helpful in trying to entertain them, so we are so grateful for that as it meant they managed to stay throughout which is what we really wanted."
